Where are the bees?

Will be fishing in the slatyfork area this weekend and am excited about testing out some newly tied bees, however am concerned about the lack of bees here in Ohio (probably because of the drought), I was wondering if this lack of this certain terrestrial is the same in the mountains.

I'd go with ants and grasshoppers, and leave the bees at home.

I'd hate to get caught in the middle of a bee hatch.
