Has anyone tried the Greenbrier at Hinton--I know it's good right below Bluestone Dam, but how about down stream a little ways, like across from the Kroger?

I don't think you can go wrong anywhere in that area. Get a Rebel Craw (teeny craw) or a white grub and you ought to catch fish all day long.

Return of the Kalin Grub
So today I went to a tackle store to load up on some gear for a trip I'm taking Sunday on the East Branch of Massachusetts' Swift River. To my pleasant surprise, the store had a full display of Kalin grubs--pumpkin seed, watermelon, all my old favorite colors and patterns. I told the salesman I was astonished to see them, and he said that Kalin was recently bought out by the Uncle Josh Tackle Co., the folks from Wisconsin that make the pork rind baits, and that they're making a come back. I can honestly say that I am thrilled to see Kalin grubs still on the market. Sillly perhaps to feel that way over tackle, but Kalin grubs have given me more joy from fishing than any other tackle.
So soon I hope to be fishing from Kalin's on the Greenbrier.

Yeah, Uncle Josh. I saw that too. I'm glad they didn't go away. You know, lots of people swear by tube jigs, but for my money, give me a Kalin grub any day. And I mean the 3" kind too. Not the big 5 inchers.

I am also a true believer in the 3-inch Kalin grub. If I had only three lures to fish with all my life in any water I'd fish with a 3-inch pumpkin kalin grub on a 1/16th ounce jig head, a tiny torpedo, and an old-fashioned daredevil sthingy, the sliver kind, not the red and white kind.
What three lures would you pick?
